Fun fact! Jill Young is Steve’s best friend’s wife who I have know for many years. She is an awesome teacher and person who runs this STEAM Camp to keep kids learning during summer vacation.

Here is the article I wrote with the video as seen on phl17.com:

Young Minds Educational Experiences presents STEAM Summer Program to promote intellectual growth and stimulation in students grades 4-7. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math – and helps students learn in ways not traditional to a typical school year. Students can expect hands-on activities, crafts, and experiments that help them think creatively. Students are divided into groups and assigned counselors for a week, with a different theme each day. Snacks are provided and fun is had by all!

Edmund Scientific, a business whose goal is to help spark a passion for optical engineering in students, brings optical engineers to give lessons related to each themed day of the program. Students made telescopes, periscopes, magnifying glasses, used binoculars, and even created fire using optics!

For more information on the program or how to sign up your child, visit Young Minds Educational Experiences on Facebook or email [email protected].
