Megan McFarland is an angel sent down from the heavens on a mission to save every dog and cat in need of a home, and if she doesn’t accomplish it, she’s going to die trying. She is a major player in the animal rescue community in Philadelphia and I’m lucky to call her a friend.
From my post on phl17.com:
You may recognize Megan McFarland from her Mums and Mutts segment on PHL17 Morning News every Friday, but do you know how it all began? Megan is the President and Founder of Save the Mums and Mutts, an organization and event for the past seven years bringing together Mummers and other members of the community to help find homes for shelter animals and raise money for local rescues.
The event was filled with music, munchies, and of course.. mutts! The 400 people (and pups) in attendance did not let the rain stop them from the face-painting, moon bounces, incredible raffle baskets, and doggy/kitty costume contest!
Six adoptable animals found homes that day (in additions to the many new adoption applications), and the event raised $10,000!
