I’m also the event coordinator at my job – but instead of just going to events to hand out swag, I’ve started producing segments. The best part about going to these community events is the positivity floating around. You can’t leave an event like this in a bad mood.

Here is my write up from phl17.com:

The Special Olympics PA – Philadelphia celebrated their fourth annual Unified Soccer Championship at Abraham Lincoln High School this year. Emceed by 93.3 WMMR DJ, Matt Cord, the day was full of festivities, fun, and friendly competition! Nine schools practiced all year to compete to be the best of the best on this important day. The high schools in running were Abraham Lincoln, Universal Audenried Charter, Frankford, Furness, George Washington, High School of the Future, Martin Luther King, Sayre, and Thomas Edison. Each team was made of up “partners” from the high schools as well as Special Olympics athletes. The event is not only a great way to end the school year, but it also promotes inclusion, sportsmanship, anti-bullying, and teamwork. Although George Washington High School took home the trophy in each division and Abraham Lincoln High School won in their division, everyone leaves the Unified Soccer Championship a winner.
